Kelsey's Driving Lesson

I thought I would never see the day when I would be teaching my children how to drive--but the day has come. With great fear and trepidation, we took to the streets yesterday. It was hilarious!

When she finally learned the difference between the brake pedal and the gas pedal, I knew we were well on the road to success. She is doing a great job, really. But it's so funny how it reminded me of my own driving lesson. My mom let me get behind the wheel of our old Volkswagon bug, and it was a stick shift! Watching my mom lurch back and forth in the passenger seat was almost too much to take. I was dying laughing. I could hardly see the road for the tears in my eyes!

Ah, the memories...they're all coming back to me.

Oh my goodness that is too much. Thank God I have a long time before the driving lessons start. I too had a VW and my uncle taught me on a hill. Yikes. Just remebering those times makes me want to cry. Good times.

hey Hannah, I have a 19 yo and it has not been that long ago that I did that same thing. You enjoyed a lot more than I did. I was a nervous wreck and she came out of it all fine. She is a wonderful driver now and yours too will learn quicker than you think. I was more nervous the first time she took off after getting her license by herself though. I think that it is all part of parenthood.

Thanks for the consolation. Just the thought of her driving alone is enough to bring on a panic attack!

That was so funny. My dd was just learning to drive and ran into a building. Talk about pushing that imaginary break! LOL Loved how the camera kept falling. At least we had an automatic.

Your family is beautiful. :)

I stumbled on you from your interview with today show about momnesia. LOL Now I have a name for my problem.

I am also a mom of 7. I have 5 ds and 2 dd. What's the ratio for you?

Look forward to going through your blog.
